Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any questions that are not answered below or have any suggestions, feel free to reach out at info@covidschooltracker.com
Where does this data come from?
All the data comes from each state's department of health or department of education. On each state's page, right above the table, you can see where the data came from. By clicking on the link, you will be redirected to their homepage.

Why does the data seem incorrect or outdated?
Sometimes, news through local channels will reach you faster than through the official state data. Additionally, some states record case counts from a specific date. If schools open before the date they started counting, they might not be included. Finally, some states will only release data on a week by week basis and not aggregate numbers. We are working hard to push states to release aggregate data and will try to calculate some on my own.

Why is my state not on there?
Due to a lack of federal response, each state must do their own gathering of data. Additionally, not all states are ready or planning on releasing this data to the public. Therefore, We do not have access to the data.

Why is the data not changing?
Not all states update their data daily. On each state's page, it will display whether the data is updated daily or weekly. We will update data as soon as possible.

Why can't I see my school on there?
Often times, schools with less than 50 members are often excluded for privacy reasons. Some states release data on school districts and not specific schools. Schools with out any cases are often removed from the data.

Can you add more data?
We are limited by the bounds of what the state provides me. We are working hard to try and provide more detailed types of data and different days to display it. If you find anything that may help us, please reach out to us.
